In an effort to save money, some folks are thinking of changing the coverage they carry for their car insurance. By moving toward a more conservative policy with minimal coverage, the monthly cost does decrease. However, that is not always the best answer.
This short term solution can actually end up costing more in the long run. How? When claim time arrives.
Nobody plans on having an accident or being hit by someone else that does not have insurance. Unfortunately, both of these situations do happen. Keep in mind that minimal coverage is just that... MINIMAL! The real question should be... "Am I properly covered"?
Please talk to us before making any changes to your auto policy so that you don't end up paying more money "out of pocket" at claim time than you are currently paying with your monthly premium.
